Michigan City Pop Warner Families,
We were recently made aware that a member of one of our Tiny Mite football teams has tested positive for COVID-19. HIPAA law prevents us from sharing the individual’s name, but we do want to make our participants and families aware of possible exposure.
The player is, so far, asymptomatic, and has not attended practice since September 29th. The Tiny Mite team will not hold practices or participate in games until October 13th, per the Pop Warner Return to Play guidelines.
Please know that we are taking every precaution to prevent further spread of the virus. We will continue to take temperatures at the beginning of practice, frequently sanitizing, and encouraging any coaches or players to stay home if they are not feeling well.
Per our COVID-19 policy, the player will not be permitted to attend practice, games, or any related Pop Warner functions until they have been cleared to do so by a medical professional.
We ask that all of our families remain vigilant and heed the advice of the medical professionals. If you or your child are not feeling well, please stay home. The health and safety of our families is our primary concern. Please contact a Michigan City Pop Warner coach or board member if you have any questions or concerns.
